
BIKEBUDZ (PTY) LTD - TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Welcome to Bikebudz. By accessing or using our website and services, you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. These apply to all rental agreements, applications, and interactions with Bikebudz (Pty) Ltd.

1. Eligibility Criteria
To apply for a Bikebudz Rent-to-Own motorbike, riders (Bike-buddies) must meet the following minimum requirements:

Be 18 years or older.

Hold a valid South African ID or international passport.

Possess a valid South African motorbike licence (minimum 3 months old).

Have a valid work permit or asylum documentation (if non-citizen).

Have a minimum of 3 months’ experience working in delivery services.

Maintain a valid South African bank account.

Provide proof of residential address not older than 3 months.

Have an active employment contract with an approved delivery company.

2. Application and Approval
All applications are subject to verification and approval by Bikebudz.
A once-off, non-refundable registration fee of R800 is payable upon approval.
The first week’s rental must be paid before collecting the motorbike.
Bikebudz reserves the right to reject any application without obligation to provide reasons.

3. Rental Structure
Bike-buddies rent the motorbike for a fixed period of 80 weeks.
Weekly rental payments are due before 12h00 every Friday.
Payment must be made even if the bike is not in use.
Bike-buddies may purchase the bike for R750 after successfully completing all 80 payments and complying with all contract terms.

4. Servicing Requirements
The motorbike must be serviced:
After the first 500 km;
Every 3,000 km thereafter.
Bike-buddies have a 100 km grace period between service intervals
Bikebudz will pay for the first 8 (eight) services at an approved workshop.
Services performed late or at unauthorised workshops may result in breach of contract.
After 8 services, Bike-buddies are responsible for all future servicing costs.
Only approved Bikebudz workshops can be used for bike maintenance services.

5. Wear and Tear
Bike-buddies are responsible for all wear-and-tear items, including:
Brake pads; Chains; Tyres, etc.
These items are not covered under the service allowance.

6. Damage and Insurance
Bike-buddies accept full responsibility for any loss, theft, or damage to the motorbike.
The motorbike is not insured by Bikebudz.
In the event of damage:
Bike-buddies must repair the bike at their own cost; or
Enter into a repayment plan with Bikebudz, if agreed in writing.

7. Tracking Device
All bikes are equipped with a GPS tracking device, provided and installed by Bikebudz at no cost to tBike-buddies.
The tracker is used to:
Monitor location and mileage for service compliance;
Aid in recovery in the event of non-payment, theft, or breach;
Ensure compliance with contract terms.
Tampering with, removing, or disabling the tracking device is strictly prohibited.
Any interference with the tracker will result in immediate breach of contract, and Bike-buddies will be required to return the bike to Bikebudz without delay. Legal action may follow where necessary.
8. Breach and Termination
Bikebudz may terminate the rental contract if:
Bike-buddies fail to make 2 or more consecutive weekly payments.
Bike-buddies fail to service the bike within the required intervals.
Bike-buddies damage the bike and fails to repair or repay the cost.
Any eligibility information is found to be false or invalid.
In the event of breach, the Rider must return the bike immediately, and any right to purchase the bike is forfeited.

9. Ownership
The bike remains the property of Bikebudz (Pty) Ltd at all times during the rental period.
Ownership only transfers if:
Bike-buddies makes all 80 weekly payments, and
Pays the R750 buyout fee, and
Complies with all service and maintenance requirements.

10. Disclaimers
Bikebudz is not responsible for the Bike-buddies employment or income.
Bikes are provided brand new and in good working condition.
Bike-buddies must comply with all road traffic laws and regulations.

11. Privacy Policy
All personal data is processed in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). We do not sell or share your information with third parties, except as required to process your application or manage your contract.

12. Amendments
Bikebudz reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be posted on this website. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the amended terms.

13. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes will be resolved through arbitration in Johannesburg, under the rules of the Arbitration Foundation of Southern Africa (AFSA).
